Provider Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Rutgers University Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at Newark Hospital. I completed a combined MD / MPH program at Boston University School of Medicine, where I focused on epidemiology. I have particular expertise in medical genetics, and this extends from my initial training at Boston University School of Medicine. I then completed my general surgical residency at Northwell Health in NY, where I was Education chief resident. I then pursued a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC, where I had the opportunity to train with a renowned multidisciplinary team.

I specialize in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the breast. I also treat high-risk patients and/or those with genetic susceptibility to breast cancer. My care philosophy is rooted in patient advocacy and autonomy; I want patients to feel educated about their comprehensive treatment plan and feel empowered to navigate their care decisions. I am passionate about women’s health.

I am a member of several surgical societies, including the Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) and the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS). I serve on the AWS publications committee.
