Provider Biography

Leroy R. Sharer, M.D., is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College (now Weill Cornell). He did a residency in Anatomic Pathology at New York Hospital-Cornell and a fellowship in Neuropathology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is certified in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology by the American Board of Pathology. His research interests have included neuropathologic changes in children with AIDS, animal models of HIV-1 infection, and neuropathology of infectious diseases. He is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the American Association of Neuropathologists (the AANP), the most prestigious award given by this national professional organization.
