Provider Biography
Dr. Ippolito was born and raised in West Orange, NJ. After a diagnosis of stage 4 neuroblastoma at a young age, he underwent successful treatment and cure with chemotherapy and surgery. Dr. Ippolito attended Rutgers University where he played ice hockey and studied Cell Biology & Neuroscience, followed by graduation from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completion of orthopaedic surgery residency at Rutgers NJMS. Most recently, Dr. Ippolito completed his training at the prestigious University of Chicago Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship. Currently, Dr. Ippolito serves as an Assistant Professor in the division of Musculoskeletal Oncology in the department of Orthopaedics at NJMS. In his clinical practice, Dr. Ippolito cares for children and adults with bone and soft tissue tumors and utilizes his own background to provide empathy and hope to patients with limb and life-threatening musculoskeletal cancers. Additionally, Dr. Ippolito has a special interest in limb-salvage for patients suffering from both oncologic and non-oncologic conditions, including primary and revision total joint arthroplasty and bone and joint infection.
