Dr. Amy V. Gore isjoining the Rutgers NJMS Department of Surgery as an Instructor in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery and an Attending at University Hospital. Dr. Gore completed a Master's of Science degree from Georgetown University and her Doctor of Medicine degree from New Jersey Medical School. After medical school Dr. Gore completed her surgical residency in 2018, also at NJMS. During her training, she held an NIH T32 research fellowship for two years where she studied the effect of mesenchymal stem cells on anemia and wound healing following trauma, shock, and chronic stress. Following residency, Dr. Gore completed an AAST-accredited Trauma/Acute Care Surgery fellowship at the University of Colorado/Denver Health in Denver, CO. Dr. Gore's academic interests include trauma and ICU survivorship, global surgery, violence prevention, the effect of the social determinants of health on surgical outcomes, surgical education, and wellness/burnout.
